The real definition of Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras in Haiti is the entire Carnival season in Haiti and all the events of Haiti carnival celebrations and it ends the day before Ash Wednesday.

However, in Haiti we don't say "Mardi Gras 2009" instead we use the tern "Kanaval" meaning "Carnival" instead of "Mardi Gras"

We say "Kanaval 2009".

"Mardi Gras 2009" is what they say in New Orleans.
